College Scholarships for "International Students"

This web page was updated January 2023.

We have seen the demand for information about "international scholarships." We have received requests at our website for this type of information. Although, we are NOT experts on financial aid, we have come across some information that may be of help to students from outside the United States that are looking for scholarships to attend college in the United States. Also, we have seen scholarships that may help American students be able to study abroad.

Although there are scholarship search services and listings of scholarships for international students, one source for scholarships for international students is the college or university that the student wants to attend. Many colleges have special funds to encourage students from abroad to study at their university. Please contact the university of your choice in order to see what kind of financial aid that is available for you.

We need to remind you to PLEASE watch out for SCAMS. We do NOT endorse any of the following resources, but there are a number of listings of scholarships that may be able to help, BUT you need to be careful of what is being offered.

PLEASE NOTE: BE CAREFUL:

We decided to write the following statement about being careful on applying for scholarships that MAY no longer be available. From our experience of trying to list scholarships that are currently available, we have found that many scholarships stay on the World Wide Web, although the organizations that at one time funded the scholarships, NO LONGER fund the scholarship. We have found that all the information is on the organization's web page, BUT, the date for applying for that scholarship may be a couple years old. Our best advice is that IF a scholarship is listed on a web page AND the date of application is more than a year old, then it is VERY PROBABLE that the scholarship is NOT AVAILABLE. Our best advice is that if you are interested in a scholarship that has older information, then PLEASE TRY TO CONTACT them to see IF the scholarship is currently being offered. Definitely, a number of organizations may delay funding a scholarship for a year or two. However, there are many scholarships that are found on web pages that have been there for years that have NOT been funded for years.
